Bengal Lane – Greens Norton
This is a fantastically positioned site in the heart of Greens Norton on Bengal Lane, however it presented an enormity of challenges.
The site Basford coach works was a disused garage which also had historic petrol contamination in the ground this needed to be addressed. There was also a large storm sewer which ran through the middle of the site, that needed to be redirected at some 4 meters depth for 95m, lastly there were numerous overhead cabled that needed to be rerouted and place underground.
The site presented numerous challenges, that we overcame to deliver this village centre piece which adds to the historic nature of the area, all the stone was locally sourced from Pury End quarry. This Quarry producing the finest rubble limestone in Northamptonshire. The end result was a traditional exterior with hand built traditional kitchens, with underfloor heating to the whole ground floor, solid oak staircases exterior timber sash windows and the finest welsh slate to the roof.
Three of the units were pre-sold prior to starting on the development.
